U.S. Bank Translators

U.S. Bank created the first-ever Spanish-speaking voice assistant for banking. With Asisente Inteligente Spanish-speakers could finally speak for themselves. This highlighted an even deeper reality. Only 23% of immigrants from Spanish-speaking countries speak proficient English. But, it increases to 94% for their grandchildren’s generation. As a result there are 11 million child translators in the U.S. This is their story.

So, we created Translators, a 20-minute documentary short directed by Emmy-award winner Rudy Valdez. The film follows the lives of three bilingual children who are their families translators.

Our worldwide premiere was at the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival, where the film was an official select in the ‘short’ category. Translators was so well received, attendees lined up to give our director, Rudy Valdez, a hug and share their own connection to the story and praise for the representation.

For our New York premiere we headed to the iconic Roxy Hotel. In addition to screening our film, we hosted a panel moderated by journalist Faith Salie, our celebrity ambassador Leslie Grace, and Virgina Vasquez who starred in the film.

U.S. Bank SVP, Head of Brand Advertising & Creative Strategy Kelly Colbert spoke on a Tribeca X panel alongside other industry leaders from Indeed, Frito-Lay, and SC Blueprint Inc. Translators won Best Short at the Tribeca X awards.

We took our film from the east coast all the way to the west coast.

We hosted a Los Angeles premiere at the historic Montalbán Theater, known for catering to Hispanic culture.

In the weeks leading up to our Los Angeles premiere we filled the streets with wild postings of our film posters.

We were lucky to get the attention of several news outlets and even actor, John Leguziamo.

So far, the film has garnered more than ​12 Billion Impressions and 751 earned placements across mainstream, entertainment, and Spanish-language outlets.
