Verizon The Unbreakable Controller

Verizon

Insight: No one feels slow internet like gamers. And a lot of times they take their lag frustrations out on their controller instead of the real culprit, their internet provider.

Challenge: Verizon Fios was named the best network for gamers by PCMag for two years in a row, but many gamers didn’t know that.

Idea: To get the attention of laggy gamers and encourage them to switch to Verizon Fios, we created an unbreakable video game controller and used it to troll gamers across the country.

To pull off a troll this size we needed some help. So, we enlisted Steve Brower, a product engineer behind SNL, Stranger Things, and Uncut Gems to help us make this thing for real.

This controller was designed for gamers with laggy internet. We took into consideration all of their frustrations when we built it.

To troll gamers everywhere, we sent the controller to gaming powerhouse Nate Hill of FaZe Clan, who also happens to be a Fios user. He trolled his influencer friends in Nuke Squad for their laggy internet by sending them the Unbreakable Controller.

When they couldn’t break it…we sent it to more laggy influencers, who also couldn’t break it.

In the end, we proved our controller was unbreakable. But, we also proved that an Unbreakable Controller isn’t the solution to laggy internet. Switching to Verizon Fios is.
